Your Trekking Experience in a glance

This Tour  will take you to the highest point of Africa at the Mountain  identified as one of Natural Wonders of the World. Also highlighted as the best places to be of all time and for a different Experience.

If you’re planning to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and  you wish to have your first ever climbing experience, then here is the choice we suggest.

Trekking through the Machame route “Whisky route”  will maximize your chances to reach the peak of the highest point in Africa.

In some places Machame route is steeper than other routes like Marangu, Rongai and Lemosho.

Machame route is the busiest route among all Kilimanjaro routes, due to its success rates and its popularity.

Kindly look at the detailed itinerary and see how your trip to Kilimanjaro via Machame route is analyzed in terms of time and activities.

Upon your landing in Tanzania either via Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will meet with our representative who will provide you with important information and details  concerning your trip and program.  He will assist you to pick and sort your luggage in the car, then drive you to the hotel for rest, dinner and overnight .

Stay Overnight at : Arusha Planet Lodge  or  Similar

The journey to Machame gate, starts early in the morning just after your breakfast. Your guide and the entire crew will meet you at the hotel ready for the journey. After completing the Hotel checkout procedure, a drive heading to Machame gate starts with all crew onboard the car. You will be welcomed and cheered with a wide smile from the crew and some motivational Swahili songs all mean a lot about Kilimanjaro.

Registration of Visitors and crew is taken at the gate upon arrival before entering the park. This is to help the authority to have records of Tourists and all visitors in the park.

Hot water to wash your body and hot dinner will be provided at machame Machame Camp upon arrival.

Early in the morning, another stunning day of Kilimanjaro Adventure starts. Wake up and enjoy a hot breakfast with your guide. While getting breakfast your guide will provide you with day tips to help understand how the whole day is going to be.

After breakfast, you start walking leaving behind the rainforest. You walk, traversing little water streams, going up a rocky ridge, quite steep, then turn west   to Shira camp site, where you are going to rest, have dinner and  camp for a night.

From Shira Camp, you continue walking east up the ridge, passing the junction towards the Kibo Peak. As you continue the direction changes to South East heading to Lava Tower then to Barranco Camp.

Today is a good day to acclimatize and experience the difference in altitudes in  Kilimanjaro as Climbers will be walking up to high altitude and sleeping at a low altitude at Barranco Campsite. Lunch  will be provided at Lava Towa Camp and Dinner at Barranco Camp.

After breakfast early in the morning, a hike up the  Barranco wall starts heading to Karanga camp. We recommend you should leave the camp as  early as possible so you can get enough time to rest after the wall. Going up the wall is not difficult as it takes only one hour and half to reach the top.

The Barranco wall gives a great chance to capture the best photos and a tremendous view of the Barranco Valley. Walking up to Karanga Campsite which is 4670 meters above sea level is more of a climbing experience, and also serves as a preparation to hike the summit of Kilimanjaro. Walking time here varies from 4-5 hours  of normal walk covering a distance of 5 kms..

Around 02:00 am, a journey going up to the summit starts, led by your head guid and the assistance guide accompanied by experienced porters carrying light bags with your necessary items to use on the peak.Walking up to the summit is not an easy task to accomplish  it is mental and physical challenging part of trek.

At stellar point which is 5,756m  you will have a short rest, and due to weather you will be rewarded by the magnificent sunrise you ever have.

From Stella Point, you may encounter snow all the way on your 1-hour ascent to the summit. At Uhuru Peak, you have reached the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the continent of Africa. Faster hikers will see the sunrise from the summit.

From the summit, we now make our descent continuing straight down to the Mweka Hut camp site, stopping at Barafu for lunch

In the morning after breakfast we continue walking down to Mweka gate, to receive your Kilimanjaro Climbing Summit Certificate. Normally at lower elevation the land is wet and slippery, it’s recommended to wear gaiters and use your walking poles just to support your body and avoid falling down.

At Mweka gate you will be provided with hot lunch and have your final day celebration with the whole crew. After all the celebration and lunch a drive to Arusha will start, driving down through Mweka Village to Moshi Town and then Arusha Town for dinner and overnight stay looking forward to another adventure in  Zanzibar or in Serengeti and Ngorongoro or catching a flight back home depending on your program.
